Green Beans with Slivered Almonds

  • 1/2 pound fresh green beans
  • 2 slices bacon
  • 2 tablespoons slivered almonds
  • 1. Wash green beans and remove ends.
  • 2. Place beans in saucepan and cover with hot water. Boil 5 minutes. Drain.
  • 3. In skillet, fry bacon on low heat until crisp and remove from pan. Drain on paper towel.
  • 4. Stir-fry almonds in bacon grease until light golden color.
  • 5. Remove with slotted spoon and drain on paper towel.
  • 6. Stir-fry green beans in bacon grease until hot and crisp tender, about 2 minutes.
  • 7. Crumble bacon over beans and top all with the toasted almonds.
  • Serves 2
