1. Wash lettuce with cold water. Drain well or spin in salad spinner. Break into bite size pieces.
2. Place in bottom of 1 quart salad bowl. (Looks pretty in a clear bowl.)
3. On top of lettuce, layer peas, water chestnuts and celery.
4. In small bowl, mix mayonnaise and sour cream. Spread over vegetables. Sprinkle cheese and bacon on top.
5. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
