Crunchy Salad

Ingredients
  • 1/4 head iceberg lettuce
  • 1 (10 ounce) package frozen peas, thawed
  • 1 (6 ounce) can water chestnuts, drained
  • 1/2 cup celery, diced
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 3 tablespoons cheese, grated*
  • 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
Directions
  • 1. Wash lettuce with cold water. Drain well or spin in salad spinner. Break into bite size pieces.
  • 2. Place in bottom of 1 quart salad bowl. (Looks pretty in a clear bowl.)
  • 3. On top of lettuce, layer peas, water chestnuts and celery.
  • 4. In small bowl, mix mayonnaise and sour cream. Spread over vegetables. Sprinkle cheese and bacon on top.
  • 5. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
