1. Combine water, soy sauce, cornstarch, black pepper, red pepper and garlic. Mix well and set aside.
2. Slice steak thin and stir-fry in oil until no longer pink. Remove from skillet.
3. Wash asparagus or green beans and break off ends. Leave whole or slice diagonally into 1" pieces. Stir-fry until crisp tender.
4. Add soy sauce mixture. Cook about 1 minute or until thickened. Stir in meat and drained mushrooms.
5. Serve hot over noodles or rice.
