Cherry Chocolate Cake

Ingredients
  • 1 devil's food moist cake mix
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 21 ounce can cherry pie filling
  • Fudge Frosting
Directions
  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 9"x 13" pan.
  • 2. In large bowl, combine cake mix, water, eggs and almond extract. Mix well.
  • 3. With large spoon, gently fold in pie filling until well blended.
  • 4. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake 40 minutes.
  • 5. Frost warm cake.

Fudge Frosting
Ingredients
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 5 tablespoons butter
  • 1/3 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions
  • 1. Mix sugar, butter and milk in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
  • 2. Boil 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  • 3. Turn off heat and stir in chocolate chips until melted and smooth.
  • 4. Let cool until warm before pouring onto cake.
