1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 9"x 13" pan.
2. In mixing bowl, cream sugar and butter until well blended. Stir in eggs.
3. In another bowl, combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Add to creamed mixture and mix well.
4. Stir in apples and nuts. Spread in prepared pan.
5. Bake 35 to 40 minutes.
6. Top with desired sauce and whipped cream.

Caramel Sauce

Directions
1. Combine sugar, brown sugar, milk, butter and flour in saucepan. Heat until butter is melted.
2. Bring to a boil and gentle boil until sugar is dissolved, about 2 minutes. Add vanilla.
