Overnight Breakfast Casserole

Ingredients
  • 4 slices bread, broken in pieces
  • 1 1/2 cups Cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon, sausage or ham pieces
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 10 3/4 ounce can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
Directions
  • 1. Place bread in bottom of greased 8"x 8" baking pan.
  • 2. Sprinkle 1 cup cheese over top.
  • 3. Break cooked meat into pieces and scatter over cheese.
  • 4. In mixing bowl, beat eggs, 1 cup milk and dry mustard. Pour over bread mixture.
  • 5. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  • 6. In the morning, preheat oven to 300 degrees.
  • 7. Mix soup and 1/2 cup milk to make about 2 cups.
  • 8. Spoon 1 cup soup mixture over casserole. (Store remaining topping in refrigerator in airtight container for up to 10 days.)
  • 9. Bake uncovered for one hour.* Sprinkle remaining 1/2 cup cheese over top last 10 minutes baking time.

Tips

Place shallow pan of water on bottom rack of oven during baking time.
