1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Grease and flour 1 (9"x 5") loaf pan or 8 miniature (3 1/2"x 2 1/2").
2. Combine nuts, dates and cherries in large mixing bowl.
3. In another bowl, stir together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
4. Add to nut mixture, stirring until nuts and fruits are well coated.
5. Fold eggs and vanilla into mixture and stir until all ingredients are moistened. Gently spoon into prepared pan.
6. Bake 1 hour for large loaf or 30 minutes for miniature loaves or until dry and lightly browned.
7. Cool 10 minutes in pan. Loosen edges and turn onto wire rack.
